LIV Golf suspended Graeme McDowell for one tournament and fined him $125,000 for violating the circuit's anti-doping policy, the tour announced Sunday.

LIV said McDowell used a decongestant medicine containing a banned substance during June's Nashville event.

The tour also disqualified McDowell's individual and team results from LIV Nashville as part of its punishment. The 45-year-old finished T-42 and Smash GC, captained by Brooks Koepka, was 12th out of 13 teams.

The Northern Irishman released a statement on social media:

McDowell will miss next weekend's LIV Greenbrier due to his suspension. He's eligible to return for LIV Chicago in September.

The 2010 U.S. Open winner is amid his best campaign since joining LIV. McDowell ranks 23rd in the tour's standings with three top-10 finishes this season.

Smash GC has yet to confirm McDowell's replacement for LIV Greenbrier.
