MLB players show love for Ortiz on social media
There is no shortage of support for David Ortiz.
The Boston Red Sox slugger had his 20-year career come to an end Monday, finishing 0-for-1 with an RBI and two walks in a 4-3 loss against the Cleveland Indians as his club was knocked out of the postseason.
That didn't stop plenty of Ortiz's past opponents from showing the retiring Boston icon some love as he steps away from the game of baseball:
Thank you for always being yourself Big Papi....a total savage. It was an honor watching you play. One more year? (Not in my division) pic.twitter.com/O40zrzM9Cn

Players weren't the only ones vocal about their appreciation Monday, as Ortiz also received a standing ovation from the crowd at Fenway Park when he was pulled for a pinch runner in the eighth inning.
