Yankees' Judge, Stanton to hit back-to-back for 1st time Wednesday
New York Yankees fans will finally get their first glimpse at the new heart of the lineup in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Detroit Tigers. Aaron Judge will make his spring debut batting second, with Giancarlo Stanton following immediately behind him.
The slugging duo arrived at training camp to great fanfare following the December trade that brought Stanton to the Yankees. Judge and Stanton were the only players in baseball to hit more than 50 home runs in 2017, each leading their respective league in long balls.
The Yankees have yet to lose a game this spring and Wednesday's batting order is the closest to their projected Opening Day lineup to take the field thus far.
Judge and Stanton will get their first chance to hit back-to-back against Tigers lefty Daniel Norris.
