The Chicago Cubs signed left-hander Caleb Thielbar to a one-year contract Tuesday, the team announced.
Thielbar is an eight-year MLB veteran who spent his entire career with the Minnesota Twins.
The 37-year-old authored a 5.32 ERA and 10.1 K/9 in 59 appearances for the Twins last season while posting career-worst marks in WHIP (1.56) and walks per nine innings (4.6).
Thielbar joins fellow lefties Luke Little and Rob Zastryzny in a Cubs bullpen that finished 11th in K/9 and 12th in ERA last season.
