Report: Yankees 'definitely not' interested in Harvey

Matt Harvey won't be staying in the Big Apple.

With the New York Mets working diligently to find a trade partner for the right-hander, don't count on their city rivals calling up general manager Sandy Alderson anytime soon.

The New York Yankees are "definitely not" interested in the erratic starter, according to Bob Klapisch.

The Yankees recently lost left-handed starter Jordan Montgomery with an ominous elbow strain and Sonny Gray (6.00 ERA after Saturday's improved performance) has yet to take off. Still, Harvey - whose own struggles led to his current predicament - doesn't appear to intrigue the 22-10 Yankees as a reclamation project.

Harvey was designated for assignment Friday after he refused to be demoted to the minors. In eight games with the Mets this season, he has allowed 21 earned runs (55 ERA+) and six home runs as a starter and reliever.
