Mets select prep star Jarred Kelenic No. 6 overall
With the sixth pick in the 2018 MLB amateur draft, the New York Mets selected outfielder Jarred Kelenic, a toolsy Wisconsin high schooler who's currently committed to Louisville.
With Kelenic, the Mets made their highest draft selection in 14 years since selecting Philip Humber third overall in 2004. The 18-year-old joins a system that has recently graduated fellow first-round outfielders Michael Conforto and Brandon Nimmo.
