Angels select prep star Jordyn Adams No. 17 overall
With the 17th pick in the 2018 MLB amateur draft, the Los Angeles Angels selected Jordyn Adams, an outfielder from Green Hope High School in Cary, N.C.
Adams has immense talent as both a baseball and football player - he was a four-star football recruit at wide receiver - and has committed to playing both sports at the University of North Carolina. His father, Deke, is the Tar Heels' defensive line coach, and as a result there's some thought that Adams may be a tough sign this summer as he leans toward a two-sport college career.

MLB.com money quote: "Adams' most explosive tool is his speed, which earns top-of-the-scale 80 grades from some evaluators. Just with his sheer quickness, Adams can steal bases and cover a lot of ground in center field, and he potentially could be elite in both areas if he devoted his full attention to baseball."
