The Toronto Blue Jays tabled a three-year, $30-million offer to infielder Mike Moustakas during free agency, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Moustakas wound up signing a four-year, $64-million contract with the Cincinnati Reds, and the Blue Jays instead added veteran Travis Shaw on a one-year, $4-million pact.
The 31-year-old Moustakas is a three-time All-Star and coming off a 35-homer campaign in 2019. Shaw, meanwhile, struggled last season with a .551 OPS across 86 contests. Both players were with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Shaw, 29, hit a combined 63 round-trippers during 2017 and 2018 with the Brewers. He played multiple infield positions with Milwaukee.
