The Washington Nationals fired an administrator for their academy in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic after the employee threw hot coffee in the face of a convenience-store clerk, the team told Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan of ESPN.

"The Washington Nationals learned of this horrific incident earlier today and immediately terminated the employee," said Nationals president of baseball operations and general manager Mike Rizzo on Saturday. "We do not tolerate this type of behavior in our organization."

Jazhiel Morel, the now-former Nationals employee, appeared to exchange words with the woman working at the store in the Dominican before the incident.

Morel's lawyer reportedly said his client will turn himself in to police Monday.
