Mariners' Santiago suspended 10 games for foreign substance
Seattle Mariners left-hander Hector Santiago has been suspended 10 games and MLB fined him an undisclosed amount for having a foreign substance on his glove during a game Sunday, the league announced.
Santiago will appeal the suspension, which was set to begin Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

He was ejected from Sunday's contest after umpires inspected his glove in accordance with MLB's latest guidelines to enforce rules against the use of foreign substances.
The pitcher said he didn't break the rules, and what umpires may have found was a mixture of sweat and rosin. MLB allows the use of rosin on the hand, wrist, or forearm, but it isn't permitted inside the glove.
"All I used was rosin. I used it on both sides, trying to keep that sweat from dripping down to the hands," Santiago said.
