Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. isn't lacking confidence amid the hottest stretch of his career.

"In my mind, I'm the best in the world," he said, according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez.

Guerrero has torn the cover off the ball since the All-Star break, posting a .413/.497/.857 slash line with 29 extra-base hits.

The 25-year-old entered Monday with a 168 OPS+, one point higher than he posted during his AL MVP runner-up season in 2021. Many questioned whether Guerrero could return to such highs after consecutive underwhelming campaigns.

"I never really lost sight of the type of ballplayer I am and the type of potential I have within me," Guerrero said. "It's just a process you have to go through. Thankfully, I was able to get through it."

If Guerrero maintains his production down the stretch, he could find himself in AL MVP discussions again alongside the likes of Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr., and Gunnar Henderson.

Guerrero's Blue Jays have won four straight games but entered Monday last in the AL East with a 63-68 record.
