Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is optimistic that the club can be right back in contention next season after a disappointing 2024 campaign.

"I think for this team, you've just got to let the dust fall where it may at the end of the year and onto 2025 with expectations," Springer told Sportskeeda's Dan Connolly. "I think everybody will learn from this and understand what we didn't do, what we did do right, or what we didn't do right. We'll put it all out there again next year."

The Blue Jays sit in the basement of the American League East after making the postseason in three of the last four years and carrying those playoff expectations into this season.

Springer has struggled through an inconsistent season at the plate, slashing .216/.301/.381 with 19 home runs and 55 RBIs in 127 games.

Toronto traded a number of veteran contributors at the deadline, acting as sellers for the first time in five years.

The Blue Jays enter the offseason at something of a crossroads, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette each only having one year remaining before hitting free agency.

Springer said keeping the duo in Toronto for the long haul is crucial.

"I think it's huge," Springer said. "Bo and Vladdy have been together since they were kids. ... I was brought here four years ago, and I feel like I have been here the whole time. To have those two here is huge, not only for the locker room but for the organization. For me, I love them both. But again, I understand the other side of the game. But I hope we can all work together and make another run at it."
