San Diego Padres shortstop Ha-Seong Kim announced Saturday that he's having season-ending shoulder surgery, according to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com.

Kim has been out since mid-August with shoulder inflammation.

"I really tried everything to come back and help the team," Kim said. "But my body just wouldn't listen to my mind. So, I think as of now, my season is over, and it's really frustrating and disappointing."

The 28-year-old recorded 11 homers, 47 RBIs, 22 stolen bases, and a .700 OPS over 121 games this season. He's accrued a combined 10.5 fWAR across the last three years and won a Gold Glove in 2023.

Kim has a mutual option on his contract for the 2025 campaign.
