The Detroit Tigers are looking for a bat to beef up their lineup and have their sights set on one of the top home-run hitters from 2024.

Detroit is showing interest in switch-hitting outfielder Anthony Santander, according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press.

However, the Tigers don't appear to be the only team interested in his services, with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels the front-runners to land the 30-year-old, Petzold adds.

Santander is just one of the options the Tigers are considering, as they've also been connected to third baseman Alex Bregman.

Santander hit a career-high 44 homers for the Baltimore Orioles last season, which ranked third in the majors behind Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani.

The eight-year veteran owns a career .246/.307/.469 slash line with 155 home runs and 435 RBIs in 746 games.

Signing Santander will cost the Tigers a draft pick and international signing bonus pool money after he rejected a qualifying offer from the Orioles.
