The Dodgers are stacked and deserve to be atop the oddsboard. Reigning NL MVP Shohei Ohtani is expected to return to the mound before June, but even without him, the Dodgers field one of the best rotations in the league with Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Dustin May, and highly coveted international free agent Roki Sasaki.
Their lineup is also extremely dangerous; Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernández, and Max Muncy are about as potent a top five as you'll find in the bigs.
The Dodgers have a win total of 105.5, with the over having -125 odds. That's 12 wins higher than the Braves, who are next at 93.5.
Barring injuries, the Dodgers should have a fantastic chance of repeating - and the majority of bettors hope they do. The Dodgers have amassed 22% of the handle (money wagered) and 16% of the bets placed on the World Series winner, leading all teams in betting action.
In the betting market's eyes, the Braves are the Dodgers' stiffest test in the NL. Atlanta will be without Ronald Acuña Jr. to begin the season as he continues to recover from knee surgery. With Acuña back, the Braves' lineup rivals the Dodgers'.
However, bettors are backing the Phillies to push the Dodgers for the NL crown. Bryce Harper and Co. have garnered the second-most handle (13.5%) and second-most bets (13%) at +1000.
The Yankees appear to be the class of the American League. They're the only AL team with odds shorter than +1000 and the only AL team inside the oddsboard's top five. The Yankees have attracted the third-most handle at 12%.
The Bronx Bombers lost last year's World Series to the Dodgers and then lost Juan Soto to the crosstown rival Mets. The Yankees hope injecting Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt into the heart of their lineup can replace some of Soto's production.
Speaking of the Mets, they are +1000 to win the World Series (9.1% implied probability) and +200 to win the NL East behind the Braves. The Mets are the fifth-most bet-on team in terms of handle and bet count.
Since the Dodgers are soaking up so much of the win equity, only eight teams have an implied probability of greater than 5%. The Red Sox have received the most love among long shots with 7% of both the handle and number of bets at +2000.
While 2025 may look like another year of Dodgers domination, a lot can change over 162 games.
