Red Sox fan Stephen Curry loves team's additions
Stephen Curry knows a thing or two about winning - as evidenced by the Golden Stare Warriors' 24-game unbeaten run to begin the NBA season - and there's another club he believes is laying the foundation for success.
Curry, a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, is elated with the additions of lefty David Price and fireballer Craig Kimbrel, among others this fall.
"We're making moves, and I know (the offseason) isn't over yet," Curry told WEEI's John Tomase after a double-overtime win over the Boston Celtics on Friday. "But you've got to make splashes these days to stay competitive, and they're doing it. It's great."
Curry says rooting for the Red Sox was an easy choice from a young age after his brother declared his allegiance to Boston's most hated rival - the New York Yankees.
"Growing up, the closest team geographically was the Braves," Curry said. "But my brother (Seth) chose the Yankees when we were six or seven. I had to choose the opposite team. I chose the Red Sox and I've stuck with them ever since. It's a pretty cool thing between me and my brother."
The 2015 MVP admitted he hasn't been to Fenway Park since 2011 due to his thriving basketball career, but has fond memories of scoring an autograph from David Ortiz and chatting with Kevin Youkilis during his last visit to the hallowed baseball grounds.
