Francona spotted leaving ballpark on scooter

The weather conditions in Cleveland might not have been conducive to baseball Monday, but that didn't stop Terry Francona from braving the elements and traffic after the Indians' home opener was postponed.

The Indians manager was caught leaving Progressive Field on a scooter, despite freezing rain and winter-like temperatures of 34 degrees Fahrenheit. According to research compiled by MLB Network's Zach Lupica, Monday's game against the Boston Red Sox would have been the second-coldest Opening Day matchup since 1990.

Francona's easygoing nature seems to have rubbed off on his players, too. Indians slugger Mike Napoli, who spent parts of three seasons in Boston before getting traded to Texas last season, spotted several Red Sox players walking through the snow to Progressive Field while driving Monday, and gave them a lift to the park.
