- Demetrious Johnson's reign is now at over 1,200 days with no end in sight. The UFC finds itself in an impossible matchmaking situation with Johnson. He's knocked off both Joseph Benavidez and John Dodson twice and he's also beaten the majority of the top 10. That means he occasionally has to be fed prospects who are not quite ready for prime time. We could find out soon if gold medal-winning Olympic wrestler Henry Cejudo falls into that category.
- UFC on FOX 18 featured a breakthrough flyweight performance that may have gone under the radar. Brazilian Wilson Reis showed off the complete package against Dustin Ortiz (currently No. 9 in the UFC's official rankings). The unanimous decision moved Reis to 3-1 in the UFC and he's a sleeper in the relatively stagnant 125-pound division.
- Benavidez meets Zach Makovsky this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 82. What's strange about this matchup is that Makovsky could become a title challenger with an upset of Benavidez; however, Benavidez is unlikely to receive a third fight with Johnson even if he pulls out what would be his fifth straight victory.
