For the third time in six races, Matt Crafton drove his truck into victory lane on Friday night at the WinStar World Casino & Resort 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.
The reigning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion edged past Daniel Suarez by just 0.569 seconds to record his eighth career victory.
Crafton is now 25 points ahead of Tyler Reddick, and 32 points ahead of Erik Jones in the championship standings.
Friday also marked the fourth heartbreaking finish in a row for Jones after a solid start in his No. 4 Toyota truck, even after qualifying in the number one spot earlier in the evening.
The 19-year-old led 68 of the first 86 laps until he fell a lap down when his pit crew couldn't find a spare battery due to a voltage problem. He had to pit again when the problem wasn't resolved, putting him two laps down. He finished 15th.
Reddick, last weekend's winner at Dover International Speedway, was having a solid run before he had to serve two pit road penalties and stalled on pit road, ultimately finishing 11th.
John Wes Townley, Johnny Sauter, and Austin Theriault rounded out the top five.
Jennifer Jo Cobb, who was one of two drivers fined last week for getting out of her vehicle and walking on the track after a wreck, finished 19th.
