Warriors' Thompson: 'I don't feel like I sacrificed at all' this season
Just like he promised last summer, Klay Thompson didn't change his approach following the addition of Kevin Durant.
While many believed the Warriors' big three would be forced to "sacrifice" in order to fit Durant into their high-octane offense, Thompson doesn't believe he was required to make any adjustments during Golden State's title-winning campaign.
"I don't feel like I sacrificed at all," Thompson told ESPN's Zach Lowe. "I'd rather be a part of something that could leave a legacy. There is more to basketball than getting yours, or being the guy. I hope I do this for a long time for the Warriors."
Even with Durant in the Bay Area, Thompson attempted more field goals per game than he did last season while averaging a career-high 22.3 points on 46.8 percent shooting.
While things can change, Thompson appears to have every intention of re-signing with Golden State when he becomes a free agent in 2019, saying he hopes the Warriors can continue to dominant the league for years to come.
"That's what we want - to be contenders for years and years," Thompson said. "So far, so good."
