Report: Lakers' new offer for Davis includes Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, picks

The Los Angeles Lakers have upped their offer for Anthony Davis, proposing to send six players and two first-round picks to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of an eight-player deal for the superstar big man, a source told Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

Los Angeles is offering Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Lance Stephenson, Rajon Rondo, and Michael Beasley in the proposed deal, and the team is also offering to take on Solomon Hill to provide New Orleans with cap relief, notes Turner.

The news comes shortly after ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers offered the Pelicans a new trade package that appeared to be closer to what New Orleans is looking for in a deal compared to the Lakers' initial offers.

Wojnarowski also reported that although Lakers president Magic Johnson and Pelicans general manager Dell Demps had multiple conversations Monday, there's no indication on how much closer the two teams are towards a deal.

The Lakers are reportedly on Davis' list of teams that he's willing to sign a long-term agreement with. Regardless of the destination, the six-time All-Star has no plans on signing an extension this summer and intends to sign a new deal in July 2020 once he opts out of his current contract.
