Embiid after 76ers' loss to Bucks: 'I'm trying to get back to the fun Joel'
After the Philadelphia 76ers dropped their fourth consecutive game Thursday night, star center Joel Embiid acknowledged he could benefit from changing his mental approach to the game.
"I'm trying to get back to the fun Joel," Embiid said after Philadelphia's 112-101 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews.
"Smile a little more," he continued. "The whole season I told myself I was going to be serious. I felt like everyone looked at (me) in a way that I'm moody or I might not care. I do. I want to win. But at the same time, I try to have a different attitude. Obviously, it hasn't been working."
The Cameroonian's comments come just two days after he appeared to hint at displeasure with his role offensively, stating, "I don't know if I'm going into the game and if I'm getting the ball or not."
Embiid connected on just six of his 26 field-goal attempts against the Bucks on Thursday.
Philadelphia's current losing streak marks its second four-game skid this season. The team has also endured two separate three-game losing streaks during the 2019-20 campaign. While the club owns a 22-2 record at Wells Fargo Center, that mark plummets to 9-19 on the road.
The 76ers return to their home floor Friday with a chance to snap their skid against the Memphis Grizzlies.
