Lowry exits early with hamstring injury in Game 3 loss to Hawks
Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry left Friday's contest against the Atlanta Hawks in the third quarter due to a left hamstring injury and didn't return as the team dropped Game 3 111-110.
Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said Lowry will undergo more tests Saturday as the severity of the injury is unknown.
Lowry plans to have around-the-clock treatment in hopes of participating in Game 4 on Sunday, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reports.
The 36-year-old checked out with 1:59 left to play in the third quarter at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. He registered six points, five assists, and four rebounds in almost 23 minutes of play.
The teams traded runs in the second half. The Heat limited the Hawks to 16 points in the third quarter and scored 21 unanswered before Atlanta outscored Miami 34-25 in the fourth.
Trae Young secured the win with a last-second floater and had a game-high 24 points while dishing out eight assists. Five other players scored in double figures for Atlanta, including Bogdan Bogdanovic, who had 18 off the bench.
The Heat lead the Hawks 2-1 in the best-of-seven first-round series with Game 4 on Sunday in Atlanta.
