The Newport Beach Police Department announced Wednesday that it was "unable to corroborate any criminal activity" related to Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey.

As a result, the police are concluding their investigation into allegations that Giddey was involved with a female minor.

The allegations surfaced on social media in November. Both the Newport Beach PD and the NBA launched separate investigations into Giddey shortly after.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault previously characterized Giddey's situation as a "personal matter" and said the organization decided the player would remain active based on the facts the Thunder had. Giddey himself hasn't addressed the situation.

The 21-year-old has played in all but one of Oklahoma City's games this season.
