Marcus Morris signs training camp deal with Knicks

NBA veteran Marcus Morris Sr. signed an Exhibit 9 contract with the New York Knicks, the team announced Sunday.

This contract is a non-guaranteed training camp deal. If Morris were to make the Knicks' roster, his deal would convert to a one-year non-guaranteed agreement. The Knicks would then have until the January deadline to decide if they want to keep or waive the veteran forward.

This will be the second stint in New York for Morris. He played 43 games with the Knicks before being traded to the Clippers during the 2019-20 season. Last season, Morris played in 49 games with the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds. He appeared in nine postseason contests with Cleveland, which included one start in the first round against the Orlando Magic.

Morris, 35, has also played for the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, and Boston Celtics during his 13-year NBA career. He's averaged 12 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 37.7% from three across 832 NBA games.

Morris' twin brother, Markieff, recently inked a contract with the Dallas Mavericks.
