LeBron, Jokic among 1st draft picks for 2025 All-Star Game
NBA on TNT panelists Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley drafted the three teams for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game during Thursday's broadcast.
O'Neal selected Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James with the first pick, and Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and reigning MVP Nikola Jokic were the second and third picks.
TEAM SHAQ | TEAM KENNY | TEAM CHUCK |
---|---|---|
LeBron James | Anthony Edwards | Nikola Jokic |
Stephen Curry | Jalen Brunson | Giannis Antetokounmpo |
Anthony Davis | Jaren Jackson Jr. | Shai Gilgeous-Alexander |
Jayson Tatum | Jalen Williams | Victor Wembanyama |
Kevin Durant | Darius Garland | Pascal Siakam |
Damian Lillard | Evan Mobley | Alperen Sengun |
James Harden | Cade Cunningham | Karl-Anthony Towns |
Jaylen Brown | Tyler Herro | Donovan Mitchell |
O'Neal's team also includes LeBron's former Lakers teammate Anthony Davis as well as fellow veteran stars Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and James Harden.
Barkley's team has a decidedly international feel: Karl-Anthony Towns and Donovan Mitchell are the only two players born in the United States of the eight selected, though Towns plays internationally for the Dominican Republic.
The 74th instalment of the annual event features a revised format which includes a mini-tournament of four teams. The three teams comprised of eight All-Stars selections apiece will also compete against the winner of the Rising Stars Challenge. WNBA icon and TNT broadcaster Candace Parker will coach that team.
The All-Star Game takes place Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
