It appears Steve Spurrier won't be the only former big-name college coach to join the new Alliance of American Football league, as sources told Alex Marvez of The Sporting News that Rick Neuheisel will lead a team based in Southern California.

The former Colorado, Washington, and UCLA coach hasn't been on the sidelines since 2011 when he was fired after his Bruins posted a 6-7 record.

Neuheisel, who holds an 87-59 record over his 12-year coaching career, has been serving as a studio analyst on various college football programs since his firing.

Spurrier was announced as the head coach of the Orlando franchise for the new league that will begin play in February 2019. There will be eight teams in the league, with games beginning the week after the Super Bowl and wrapping up before the college season starts at the end of August.
