Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Jon Lester (CHC) at ATL 8
Zach Davies (MIL) vs. NYM 8

Lester is actually worth his almost prohibitively high price tag Sunday afternoon. Firstly, a win should be a lock as the Cubs take on the woeful Atlanta offense. Secondly, the Braves have struggled mightily against lefties this season hitting just .223 while striking out more often than any other team. Pay up for the Chicago ace in tournament or cash game formats.

Davies has pitched back-to-back gems, striking out 14 in 15 innings of work. A matchup against the weak Mets offense increases his value. New York ranks eighth in strikeouts and have hit just .234 against righties this year.

Mid-Tier Targets

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Aaron Sanchez (TOR) vs. BAL 7
Danny Salazar (CLE) at LAA 7
Joe Ross (WAS) vs. PHI 6
Rick Porcello (BOS) at MIN 6
Steven Matz (NYM) at MIL 6
Carlos Rodon (CWS) vs. KC 6
Cole Hamels (TEX) at SEA 6
Michael Fulmer (DET) at NYY 6
John Lamb (CIN) vs. OAK) 6

Salazar will be best suited for cash games against a disciplined Angels lineup. He has quality starts in three of his last four outings and a 2.24 ERA this season. His K/9 of 10.67 should provide him with a floor of around five punchouts even against Los Angeles.

Hamels' upper echelon salary decreases his value against Seattle, who have launched a league-high 32 homers against lefties this season. On a positive note, Hamels has fared surprisingly well on the road this season. He sports a 2.08 ERA and a .197 BAA in five road starts.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Jonathon Niese (PIT) vs. STL 5
Matt Moore (TB) vs. HOU 5
Julio Urias (LAD) at SF 5
Michael Pineda (NYY) vs. DET 5
Dallas Keuchel (HOU) at TB 5

Niese makes for a nice contrarian play against St. Louis. The lefty hurler owns a 3.16 ERA at home this year and the Cardinals are hitting just .245 against southpaws. Though his career K/9 of 6.91 won't produce many strikeouts, Niese can return nice value with a quality start.

Pineda draws a tough matchup against the Tigers who are slashing .306/.374/.435 for the month of June. A recent quality start may instill a bit of faith, but Pineda isn't likely to provide strong fantasy value in this matchup.

Though Keuchel has been better of late, Tampa Bay has simply hit lefties too well (.270/.339/.481) to roster the bearded southpaw.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Robbie Ray (ARI) vs. MIA 4
Christian Friedrich (SD) at COL 4
Yordano Ventura (KC) at CWS 4
Adam Conley (MIA) at ARI 3
Mike Leake (STL) at PIT 3
Wade Miley (SEA) vs. TEX 3
Eddie Butler (COL) vs. SD 3
Ubaldo Jimenez (BAL) at TOR 3
Adam Morgan (PHI) at WAS 3
Kendall Graveman (OAK) at CIN 2
David Huff (LAA) vs. CLE 2
Pat Dean (MIN) vs. BOS 2
John Gant (ATL) vs. CHC 2

Leake strung together five quality starts in a row prior to his last outing, where he gave up six earned runs on 10 hits. A strong Pittsburgh offense won't make it easy on Leake who has allowed opponents to hit .283 on the road this season.

Morgan has lost five straight decisions. That should turn into six as Washington has won fix of their last six and look to make it three in a row over Philadelphia come Sunday.

Gant will make his MLB debut against one of the most potent offenses in the league. There is no reason to roster him in this matchup.
