Report: PSG growing confident over Neymar, Sanchez moves

Paris Saint-Germain is becoming increasingly confident of a shock double dip for Neymar and Alexis Sanchez.

With both Barcelona and Arsenal unwilling to sell Neymar and Sanchez, respectively, PSG is set to test the resolve of the two clubs with massive €222-million (£199M) and €45-million (£40.3M) bids for the South American attackers, according to a report from the Guardian's French football savant Julien Laurens.

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been tasked with prying Neymar from the Catalan behemoth while newly appointed sporting director Antero Henrique's focus is on Sanchez after the former Porto administrator was spotted in London Friday with the Chile international and his agent, Fernando Felicevich.

The six-time Ligue 1 champ now has to convince the two parties to sell, which is easier said than done, though if there's a club with the financial resources to pull of a stunning double-swoop, it's PSG.

Laurens adds that PSG is likely to meet Neymar's €222-million release clause, meaning Barcelona could do little to block the 25-year-old's move to France.

For Sanchez, matters are a bit more complicated, and Arsenal is certain to reject a €45-million bid, though the Mirror's Gunners beat writer John Cross reports that PSG would be willing to submit a £70-million bid for the tireless 28-year-old and meet his opulent £400,000-a-week wage demands.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has repeatedly stressed that Sanchez isn't for sale, but with just a year left on his current deal amid reports of discontent in north London, Arsenal risks losing the player on a free transfer next summer. With Manchester City eyeing Sanchez, Wenger would prefer selling the player to a club outside of the Premier League.

Wenger and Al-Khelaifi are understood to have a healthy working relationship as the French gaffer has been employed as an analyst for the Qatari businessman's beIn Sports and Al Jazeera television channels, hinting that a potential move to Ligue 1 for Sanchez could be the most plausible outcome.
