Report: Les Miles interested in Oregon State job
It appears Les Miles is ready to return to college football as the 63-year-old is interested in the Oregon State head coaching job, sources told Bob Lundeberg of the Gazette Times.
Miles was one of the most successful coaches in the sport during his 11-year run with LSU, posting a 114-34 record and winning the national championship in 2007.
Prior to his tenure with the Tigers, Miles was the frontman at Oklahoma State, winning the Associated Press' Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2002.
Oregon State and Gary Andersen parted ways in October after two-and-a-half disappointing seasons with the Pac-12 program, and Cory Hall took over on an interim basis. The Beavers currently sit 1-8 on the season and have yet to win a conference game.
Miles doesn't have any coaching experience in the Pac-12 or on the West Coast, but is certainly one of the bigger names available in the Beavers' coaching search. Applicants have until Nov. 20 to place their name in the running for the position.
