Report: NYPD investigating McGregor chaos; warrant not yet issued
Dana White maintains a warrant is out for Conor McGregor's arrest, but the New York Police Department claims otherwise.
After White told MMAjunkie the NYPD issued a warrant for McGregor's arrest for his involvement in an incident that saw a vehicle carrying several fighters swarmed and lightweight Michael Chiesa suffer several lacerations following Thursday's media day for Saturday's UFC 223 in Brooklyn, ESPN's Brett Okamoto reported the police are investigating the fiasco but haven't yet put a warrant out, citing ABC News.

NYPD reps have since told MMAWeekly's Damon Martin that McGregor is merely being sought for questioning over the alleged "assault" as of right now.
Chiesa, who was scheduled to face Anthony Pettis on the bill, was transported to hospital, but was later released and is currently in the throes of his final weight cut. Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas was not injured, but was mentally shaken up in the fracas, and has opted to remain on the card and defend her crown against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
The UFC president - who claimed he was unaware the Irishman had touched down in New York until Thursday night - added that a handful of parties are already expected to file lawsuits against McGregor.
According to White, McGregor and his entourage - totaling around 20 people - were allowed into Barclays Center by members of The Mac Life, who were credentialed media for the event. The posse made its way to a loading dock where vehicles were carrying fighters and their teams for transport back to their hotel. Several videos have shown McGregor and Co. hurling objects at a van and smashing a window that caused the lacerations responsible for Chiesa's hospitalization.
White believed McGregor arrived in Brooklyn with a genuine interest in attending Saturday's event and attributed the melee to an altercation between lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov and McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov that went down earlier this week. A video showed Nurmagomedov restraining manager Ali Abdelaziz from exiting their vehicle to confront McGregor and Co.
The UFC boss claimed Lobov was involved in the chaos, and has yanked him from his fight with Alex Caceres as a result.
