With the 38th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Creighton combo guard Khyri Thomas, then reportedly traded Thomas to Detroit, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

The 76ers will reportedly receive a pair of future 2nd-round picks in the deal.

A strong, tenacious guard with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, Thomas can defend multiple positions effectively. His shooting and motor should also translate to the pro game.

The two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year significantly elevated his game this season for the Blue Jays, averaging 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals on an impressive 53.8 percent from the field.

Position: SG/PG
School: Creighton
College Experience: Junior
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 198 lbs
Wingspan: 6-foot-10
Max vertical: 35 inches

What the analysts are saying

"Although he doesn't possess starry upside, Thomas has leveraged his length as a legitimate perimeter stopper and has made a strong case for himself as a useful role player in the pros. While limited as a creator off the dribble, Thomas was an efficient scorer all season and made jumpers at a convincing clip. He's a smart passer and understands how to play off others, rarely forcing shots. Defensively he has the build and long arms to really slow opponents at either guard spot. There's safety in Thomas' 3-and-D skill set, which should translate nicely to the perimeter-oriented NBA game." - Jeremy Woo, Sports Illustrated
