Report: Earl Thomas prepared to sit until new deal or trade
There doesn't appear to be any movement with the Earl Thomas holdout.
The Seattle Seahawks star is prepared to sit out through training camp and into the regular season without a trade or a new deal, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Thomas has been very vocal about his desire for a contract extension or a trade as he enters the final season of a four-year, $40-million deal.
According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the team is aware that Thomas is prepared to sit but has said there is "zero chance" of a new deal if he does not report. The 29-year-old skipped the team's mandatory minicamp last month in protest.
When Thomas signed his deal in 2014, he ranked as the highest-paid safety in the league; however, his annual salary is now sixth at the position.
