Evgeni Malkin left Saturday night's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets after an awkward collision along the boards in the second period.
Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said after the game that Malkin was being evaluated and that the team will have more information Sunday.
Injuries have hindered Malkin in the past, as he's played more than 70 games just once in the last seven seasons.
Nick Bjugstad also left the contest early and was being evaluated when Sullivan spoke to reporters postgame.
The Penguins came out on top 7-2, so there was no need to rush either player back into action.
