Brown says he's retiring again: 'Risk is greater than the reward'

Antonio Brown is again calling time on his NFL career.

The free-agent wide receiver seemingly announced his retirement in a series of tweets Monday:

After the New England Patriots cut him in September, Brown said he wouldn't "be playing in the NFL anymore," only to quickly backtrack and pursue a return. He also reportedly threatened to retire last August due to a helmet grievance while playing for the then-Oakland Raiders.

Brown's playing status is still being reviewed by the NFL following separate allegations of sexual assault and sexual misconduct, which led New England to release him after just one game.

The All-Pro receiver has reportedly garnered interest from the Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks. Brown publicly pushed to reunite with Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but head coach Bruce Arians shot down the idea.

In June, Brown pleaded no contest to a battery charge that stemmed from a January altercation with the driver of a moving truck and received two years probation as part of the arrangement.

Brown had Hall of Fame-worthy production during a nine-season stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The seven-time Pro Bowler twice led the NFL in catches and receiving yards and led the league once in receiving touchdowns.
