Lawrence's return delayed as Clemson-FSU postponed
The ACC announced Saturday's matchup between Clemson and Florida State has been postponed after the teams' medical staffs couldn't agree to continue with the contest.
FSU was concerned after Clemson had a symptomatic player test positive for COVID-19 on Friday, according to Ralph D. Russo of the Associated Press.
The player in question practiced and met with the team throughout the week, increasing the Seminoles' fear that the individual may have shed the virus to teammates, Russo adds.
Clemson was open to moving the game back to Sunday or Monday but the Seminoles declined, a source told Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel.
Heisman candidate Trevor Lawrence was scheduled to make his return against Florida State after missing time due to COVID-19.

Lawrence sat out two games due to the virus, with Clemson going 1-1 during that stretch. The junior quarterback has thrown for 17 touchdowns and two interceptions over six games this season.
Florida State head coach Mike Norvell hopes his team will have the opportunity to face the Tigers next month.
"It's unfortunate that we will not have the opportunity to compete today, but we hope to be able to play Clemson in December. I am thankful for the support and coordination between our administration, Clemson, and the ACC office. Our team will now turn our focus to hosting Virginia next week," Norvell said.
Clemson currently owns a 6-1 record, while Florida State sits near the bottom of the ACC standings at 1-6.
No details on a rescheduled date have been released.
