Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis García was named the American League Championship Series MVP.

García set the MLB record for most RBIs in a playoff series with 15 as the Rangers beat the Houston Astros in seven games to advance to their first World Series since 2011.

"This team right here, we are family, and they push me every day to play hard," García said.

The All-Star slugger went 4-for-5 with two homers and five RBIs in Game 7 to establish a new franchise record in runs driven in during a single postseason with 20. He also posted a 1.293 OPS in the series.

García has gone deep in four straight games, and his five round-trippers against the Astros are tied for second most in a single series in playoff history.

"He's a bad man, isn't he?" Rangers shortstop Corey Seager said. "To be able to come into this atmosphere and get booed every at-bat and do what he did was really special. It was really fun to watch."

García is only the fourth player ever to hit multiple homers in a Game 7. Johnny Damon (2004 ALCS), Jason Giambi (2003 ALCS), and Yogi Berra (1956 World Series) are the others.

The 30-year-old was at the center of a benches-clearing incident in Game 5 after he was hit by a pitch from Astros reliever Bryan Abreu.

García recorded a career-high 39 homers and an .836 OPS during the regular season.
