Tyson: 'I'm looking forward to extinguishing' Jake Paul
Mike Tyson knows he'll have his work cut out for him in his upcoming bout against Jake Paul, but he's confident he'll emerge as the winner.
"All my intentions are bad," the former world heavyweight champion said of facing Paul in an interview with TMZ Sports. "I look at him as a very dangerous opponent, and I'm looking forward to extinguishing him."
Tyson, 58, and the 27-year-old Paul will square off Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with the match streaming globally on Netflix. The bout was initially set to take place on July 20 but was postponed after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up.
"I'm ready right this second," Tyson said. "Training is going well. I'm ready right now. Everything else is just incidental talking - it's about the action. I'm ready now."
Tyson last stepped into the boxing ring in 2020 for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr., while his most recent professional fight was in 2005.
Paul owns a 9-1 record as a pro, with his lone loss coming against Tommy Fury in February 2023.
