Report: Giants 'the most aggressive' for 1st overall pick
The New York Giants were "the most aggressive" team that tried acquire the Tennessee Titans' first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, sources told ESPN's Jeff Darlington.
The Giants were reportedly told clearly that the Titans wouldn't trade out of the top spot, Darlington added. New York currently holds the third overall pick of the draft.
The Titans are projected to draft quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick. The Miami product is viewed as the top passer available after he threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2024. The Giants have also been linked with Ward and former Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders.
The Giants and the Cleveland Browns, who hold the second overall selection, were approached by multiple teams and have considered offers for their top picks, ESPN's Peter Schrager reported Tuesday. Giants general manager Joe Schoen had said in April that drafting a passer wasn't "mandatory" in this year's draft after the team added Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in the offseason.
The draft starts at 8 p.m. ET Thursday.
