Broncos are NFL's most attractive coaching vacancy after Kubiak's retirement

NFL teams looking to hire a new head coach this offseason probably saw the report of Gary Kubiak's retirement and all had the exact same, curse-filled reaction.

The Denver Broncos are suddenly the belle of the ball, and every other team will get pushed aside by love-struck head coaching candidates as they fight for the Broncos' attention.

Denver fell far short of expectations this season following their Super Bowl win a year ago, but they're a team stacked with talent, much more so than any other team looking for a new head coach.

It's rare a Super Bowl-caliber roster becomes available, and every coach who's been waiting for that perfect opportunity to make the jump from coordinator will be on the phone to John Elway.

The current head coaching vacancies are as follows: Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, and Los Angeles Rams.

All those teams have major flaws that will put off potential head coaches, and none are in the Broncos' stratosphere in the attractiveness of the job.

It was going to be tough for franchises like the Jaguars or the 49ers to snag a top candidate before Kubiak walked away, but their searches have become even harder now, especially if the likes of the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, and Cincinnati Bengals join the fray.

Yes, the lack of a standout quarterback isn't ideal for the Broncos, but Paxton Lynch was a first-round pick for a reason. Several veterans could be available, and, just like with the head coaches, they will clamor to play for the Broncos alongside that great defense.

Regardless of what other firings happen, Denver is immovable as the top coaching vacancy in the NFL.
