ESPN extends 'ManningCast' deal through 2024 season
Expect more alternative broadcasts on ESPN in the near future.
ESPN extended its deal with Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions on Wednesday, adding an extra year of "ManningCast" to its schedule, the network announced Wednesday.
Peyton teamed up with his brother, Eli, on 10 Monday Night Football broadcasts in 2021. "ManningCast" will now air through the 2024 season after averaging 1.6 million viewers per game in its debut year.
The agreement between ESPN and Omaha Productions will also lead to the creation of alternative broadcasts - with other hosts - for UFC, college football, and golf.
"I've always loved talking football with my brother, and it was even more fun to do it while watching ESPN's 'Monday Night Football,'" Peyton said. "Eli and I are excited to sign on for another season, and the entire Omaha team is looking forward to producing MegaCasts that celebrate other sports."
"ManningCast," which includes guests and celebrity appearances, was a huge hit in its first season and provided viral moments throughout the year.
Amazon was reportedly interested in taking it away from ESPN after its initial deal expired following the 2023 season.
