Giants' Nabers day-to-day due to ankle injury
New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is believed to have suffered a mild ankle sprain near the end of practice Sunday, sources told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Nabers is sore and considered day-to-day, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.
"We think he's OK," Daboll said. " ... I don't think it's a fracture."
Nabers left the field limping and didn't return. He was seen on the sideline moving "very slowly" following the incident, according to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News.
Nabers has "impressed" people at training camp this summer, per Raanan, and said Sunday that he's looking forward to working with quarterback Daniel Jones this season.
"I just put a lot of confidence in him," Nabers told Kay Adams on the "Up & Adams Show."
He added: "Just put the ball around me, and I'm gonna make a spectacular catch."
Nabers projects to be New York's top pass-catcher after getting drafted No. 6 overall this year. The 21-year-old had a monster season for LSU in 2023, hauling in 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.
