The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have mutually agreed to part ways with Randy Gregory after he no-showed training camp, though head coach Todd Bowles still has no explanation for the pass-rusher's absence.

"I'll never find out, but I wish him the best, and we'll move on from there," Bowles told media Sunday, including ESPN's Jenna Laine. "Can't miss what you never had."

The Buccaneers inked Gregory to a one-year deal in April. The veteran edge rusher appeared eager to join the team, calling it a "good spot to land in," according to Kristie Ackert of The Tampa Bay Times.

However, Gregory was placed on the did not report list upon the start of training camp. He's also currently suing the NFL and the Denver Broncos over claims that they discriminated against him by not allowing him to take dronabinol, which Gregory uses to treat post-traumatic stress and social anxiety disorder.

The 31-year-old recorded 3.5 sacks with the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers last season. He's tallied 22 sacks over 72 games during his career.
