Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Myles Murphy is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a knee sprain, sources told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

The Bengals will be conservative with Murphy and ensure he only returns when fully ready, Fowler adds.

Murphy suffered the injury during joint practice with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. He managed to walk off the field on his own power.

The injury is another blow to the Bengals' defensive line room; the team placed Cam Sample on season-ending injured reserve with a torn Achilles in early August.

Cincinnati selected Murphy 28th overall in last year's draft. The 22-year-old only saw 305 defensive snaps in his rookie season, racking up 10 tackles and three sacks.
