Raiders' Adams: Lamar is 'best ball carrier ever'
If you ask Davante Adams to rank the most dangerous players with the ball in their hands, his No. 1 would be Lamar Jackson.
The Las Vegas Raiders receiver, who's scheduled to face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, praised Jackson Wednesday, calling him a "hell of a football player."
"Dude changed the game," Adams told reporters, including Logan Reever of 8 News Now. "He's the best - in my opinion - best ball carrier ever, no matter what position you want to talk about. I don't think anyone is as big of a threat carrying the football."
Adams also recounted how he studied the star quarterback in a bid to improve his own open-field ability.
"Going into my (2021) season, broken tackles was an area that I really wanted to focus on and push and make better," Adams said. "I was, literally, finding myself watching Lamar Jackson highlights in my locker before the games."
Jackson's dual-threat ability has made him a two-time league MVP. Now in his seventh year in the NFL, the 27-year-old has rushed for 5,380 yards and 29 touchdowns over his career in addition to 16,160 yards and 126 scores with his arm.
