The New York Jets will have wide receiver Mike Williams at their disposal for their season opener on Monday Night Football, head coach Robert Saleh announced Thursday.

"He's going be available Week 1," Saleh said. "We're going to be very smart with how we use him, but he's going to be plenty available to make his mark felt."

Williams tore his ACL in Week 3 of the 2023 season as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers. The Jets placed him on the PUP list to open training camp but activated him off the reserve group on Aug. 7.

Saleh was impressed by Williams' performance in Thursday's practice, recalling that he caught a handful of passes for "well over 100 yards."

"I thought he had a really nice day today," the Jets sideline boss said.

Williams, who the Chargers released in the offseason, inked a one-year, $10-million deal with New York in March.

The 29-year-old is expected to be a big-bodied receiving threat for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who's returning from a torn Achilles that ended his 2023 campaign after four snaps.

Williams has 309 receptions for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns over 88 career games.

The Jets face the San Francisco 49ers on the road in Week 1.
