Higgins expects to play in MNF vs. Commanders
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is planning to make his season debut Monday night against the Washington Commanders.
"I feel great," Higgins said, according to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "Obviously unfortunate with the injury, sat out the first two weeks, but finally ready to get my feet wet this season and ready to go."
Higgins returned to practice earlier this week for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury before Week 1. The wideout added that he took a cautious approach returning.
"You never want to rush a hamstring. Those are really serious injuries," Higgins explained. "You know what they say, once you're feeling good, you want to take another week. Obviously, y'all see me working out pregame versus the Chiefs. Felt pretty good but just want to be cautious, wanted to give it another week."
Higgins said that he's sure he can go "100%".
The Bengals have missed Higgins as the team is off to another 0-2 start. No Cincinnati wide receiver has eclipsed 100 receiving yards. Tight end Mike Gesicki is the team's leading pass-catcher with 109 yards.
Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase noted that he's looking forward to facing fewer double teams once Higgins returns, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.
Higgins is playing the 2024 campaign on the franchise tag and is slated to be a free agent after this season.
