Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Troy Fautanu will miss at least four games after being placed on injured reserve Saturday, the team announced.

Fautanu initially sustained an MCL sprain in Pittsburgh's preseason opener and missed the rest of the Steelers' exhibition slate.

The Washington product injured his knee during the Steelers' Friday practice and will be out indefinitely, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor. It's unclear if this is the same knee ailment he endured during the preseason.

Broderick Jones is projected to start the Steelers' Week 3 matchup versus the Los Angeles Chargers with Fautanu out. Fautanu replaced Jones in last week's victory over the Denver Broncos after the latter committed three penalties on a single drive.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said earlier this week he intends to rotate between the two young tackles.

Pittsburgh is already missing center Nate Herbig and guard Isaac Seumalo, who are both hurt.

The Steelers drafted Fautanu 20th overall out of Washington this past spring.

Both the Steelers and Chargers are 2-0 heading into Sunday's clash.
