Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson could head to injured reserve after sustaining a high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The 2022 second-round pick appeared to hurt himself while getting his leg trapped under Vikings' linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill.

Watson had just one target before he was carted off at the end of the first quarter.

The North Dakota State product has five receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown through four games this season. Watson was expected to see more targets Sunday with quarterback Jordan Love returning after missing two games with a knee injury.

Love opted to spread the ball around as the Packers attempted to mount a comeback after falling behind the Vikings early in Week 4. Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton are among receivers who could see more looks alongside Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs.

Watson missed 11 games over his previous two seasons due to nagging hamstring injuries. The Packers receiver hasn't been able to replicate his rookie campaign where he recorded 41 catches for 611 yards and seven scores in 14 contests.
