Chargers' Harbaugh briefly leaves sideline with 'atrial flutter'

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh briefly left the sideline after experiencing an "atrial flutter" episode during Sunday's 23-16 victory against the Denver Broncos, he said postgame, according to Alex Insdorf of Bolt Beat.

Harbaugh added that it's not the first time he's dealt with the issue, noting that he had another episode during a Monday night game while he was head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

"(I'm) 2-0 with arrhythmias," Harbaugh told reporters.

Harbaugh was evaluated in the medical tent before heading to the locker room. He returned before the first quarter ended. Defensive coordinator Jesse Minter acted as the team's interim head coach while Harbaugh was gone.

Harbaugh joined the Chargers this year after nine campaigns with Michigan. He led the Wolverines to a national championship in 2023.

The 60-year-old owns a 47-21-1 record as an NFL head coach across his time with the Chargers and 49ers.
